The 14th Annual MC Invitational is put on by Upstate Connections Foundation. This year, the MC Invitational is raising money for the Skyla Strong Foundation in memory of Ava Woodard.

Ava's Army
Ava Woodard was diagnosed with DIPG On July 9th, 2020.
Diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas (DIPG) are highly aggressive and difficult to treat brain tumors found at the base of the brain. They are glial tumors, meaning they arise from the brain's glial tissue — tissue made up of cells that help support and protect the brain's neurons. These tumors are found in an area of the brainstem (the lowest, stem-like part of the brain) called the pons, which controls many of the body’s most vital functions such as breathing, blood pressure, and heart rate.
The Skyla Strong Foundation helped make her last days special and memorable.

The Skyla Strong Foundation is a local organization who helps children and families battling cancer.
THE MISSION
To bring smiles to brave children battling cancer in hospitals and to offer a unique kind of comfort and encouragement to their families and loved ones during these extraordinarily difficult times.
When there is nothing more medically that can be done, we do all we can to help make their last days as special and memorable as possible.
